  • A strong month for codfish

    Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other whitefish products to a value of NOK 835 million in August. An increase of NOK 15 million or 2 per cent compared to August 2014. There has also been a decrease of 22 per cent in export volumes, particularly of frozen whole cod fish.

  • A solid July for Norwegian seafood exports

    Norway exported seafood to the value of NOK 5.7 billion in July 2015. This is an increase of NOK 729 million, or 15 per cent, compared with the same month in 2014. Year-to-date seafood exports currently stand at NOK 39.7 billion. An increase of NOK 2.2 billion.

  • Cod export reaches new heights

    ​Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other types of whitefish for a total of NOK 6.7 billion in the first half of 2015. This is NOK 896 million more than the same period last year and corresponds to an increase of 16 per cent, which is higher than ever.

  • Clipfish contributes to record exports in May

    With robust growth of NOK 203 million, Norwegian seafood exports set a new record in May this year, with clipfish sales to Portugal the most significant contributor.

  • A new May record for codfish exports

    Exports of cod, saithe, haddock and other groundfish totalled NOK 1.03 billion in May, some NOK 216 million more than in May 2014. An increase by value of 27 per cent and a new May record. The record breaking exports in May were mainly dried cod and fresh fish exports.

  • A Record Month for Norwegian Codfish Exports

    Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other ground fish worth NOK 1.16 billion in April. An increase of 33 per cent, or NOK 288 million compared with April 2014. This represents an all time high for April exports of codfish.

  • New record for Norwegian seafood exports in first quarter 2015

    In the first quarter of 2015, Norway exported seafood worth NOK 17.4 billion. This represents an increase of 3 per cent or NOK 445 million compared to the first quarter of 2014. In March, seafood was exported for NOK 6.4 billion – an increase of 13 per cent or NOK 741 million year-on-year.

  • Exceptionally strong first quarter for cod exports

    Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other types of whitefish totalling NOK 3.5 billion in the first quarter of 2015. This represents an increase of 4 per cent, or NOK 140 million, compared to the first quarter of last year. This represents an all time high for the first quarter. March also broke records with exports worth NOK 1.35 billion, an increase of 22 per cent year-on-year.

  • Norwegian Seafood Exports Reduced In February

    Norway exported seafood worth NOK 5.1 billion in February. This represents a 6 per cent, or NOK 318 million reduction compared to February 2014, reports the Norwegian Seafood Council.

  • Reduced Cod Exports in February

    Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other whitefish worth NOK 1 billion in February. This represents a decrease of nine per cent or NOK 101 million compared to February 2014. Total exports by volume were 31,500 tonnes of whitefish in February. A decline of 33 per cent from February 2014. The largest reduction in February were the bacalhau and saltfish categories.
