Lower levels of seafood exports in January

Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other groundfish to a combined value of NOK 1 billion in January. This is a slight decline of 3 per cent or NOK 31 million compared with the strong sales of January last year. Total exports by volume were 30,414 tonnes of cod fish in January, a decrease of 33 per cent compared to January 2014.
For the second year in a row Norway seafood exports have set new records. Norway exported seafood worth NOK 68.8 billion in 2014. This is 12 per cent, or NOK 7.3 billion more than in 2013.
2014 has been the best year ever for Norwegian exports of cod, saithe, haddock and other whitefish, both in terms of value and volume. Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other groundfish to a combined value of NOK 12 billion in 2014. This is 20 per cent, or NOK 2 billion more than in 2013. Exports by volume totalled 442,000 tonnes. This is a 3 per cent increase on 2013 volumes.
Norway exported seafood worth NOK 6.6 billion in November, the same monthly total as November 2013. However year to date seafood exports have reached NOK 62.5 billion, an increase of NOK 7 billion, or 13 per cent, compared with the same period last year. This represents a new export record, surpassing the totals for the whole of 2013 by almost NOK 900 million.
Norway exported codfish worth NOK 1.16 billion in November. This is an increase of NOK 293 million, or 34 per cent compared with November 2013. Year to date exports of cod, saithe and haddock total NOK 10.95 billion. This is an increase of NOK 960 million on the whole of 2013. This is an all time high for codfish exports, both for the month of November as well as for the year to date.
Norwegian seafood exports totalled NOK 7.6 billion in October. An increase of NOK 393 million, or 5 per cent, compared with October 2013. This is a monthly all time high for Norwegian seafood. So far this year, the combined export value of Norwegian seafood stands at NOK 56 billion, an increase of NOK 7 billion, or 14 per cent, compared with the same period last year.
Norwegian exports of cod, saithe and haddock reached nearly NOK 1.2 billion in October. An increase of NOK 358 million, or 43 per cent, compared with October 2013. Year to date, exports of cod, saithe and haddock have totalled NOK 8.7 billion, an increase of NOK 1.3 billion, or 18 per cent on the same period in 2013, according to figures from the Norwegian Seafood Council.
The value of exports of Norwegian cod, saithe and haddock in September totalled NOK 1.1 billion, up NOK 206 million, or 22 per cent, compared to the same period last year. To date, the value of exports has totalled NOK 8.8 billion, a new export record for this period.
The value of exports of Norwegian codfish in August was NOK 824 million, an increase of NOK 67 million, or 9 per cent, compared to last August. According to figures from the Norwegian Seafood Council, this was accompanied by a decrease in the exported volume of 4 per cent.
