  • Strong start for Norwegian seafood exports in 2019

    Norway exported 198,700 tonnes of seafood with a value of NOK 7.8 billion in February. This is a reduction of 57,000 tonnes or 22 per cent in volume but an increase in the value of NOK 670 million or 9 per cent compared with February last year. So far this year, 406,000 tonnes of seafood have been exported with a value of NOK 16.4 billion.

  • Only half of us eat recommended amounts of seafood, new study shows

    A recent study by the NSC uncovers that seafood consumption is far below recommended amounts. The study, which is the largest seafood consumer study in the world with more than 25,000 respondents across 25 markets, found that only 51 percent of people reported eating seafood two or more times a week.

  • Norwegian seafood exports total NOK 99 billion in 2018

    Norway has exported 2.7 million tonnes of seafood to reach a new record of NOK 99 billion in 2018. This represents a volume increase of 4 per cent and a value increase of 5 per cent, or NOK 4.6 billion compared to 2017. This equates to 37 million meals of seafood every day of 2018, or 25,700 meals per minute.

    Norway exported 276,000 tonnes of seafood to a value of NOK 9.9 billion in November. Volume fell by 8 per cent, while export value increased by 11 per cent or NOK 990 million compared with November 2017. So far this year, Norway has exported 2.5 million tonnes of seafood to a value of NOK 90.7 billion.

    Norway exported 251,000 tonnes of seafood worth NOK 9.9 billion in October. Compared with October 2017, volume was down by 12 per cent, while export value increased by 10 per cent or NOK 884 million. So far this year, Norway has exported 2.2 million tonnes of seafood with a total value of NOK 80.7 billion.

  • Norwegian seafood exports exceed NOK 71 billion in 2018

    Norway has exported 2 million tonnes of seafood with a total value of NOK 71 billion so far this year. This represents a volume increase of 174,000 tonnes or 8 per cent, and an increase in export value of NOK 2.3 billion or 3 per cent measured against the same period last year. Can Norwegian seafood exports pass the NOK 100 billion mark by year-end?

  • Record for August: 100 000 tons of Salmon exported

    Norway exported a total of 178 000 tonnes of seafood, valued at a total of NOK 8 billion in August. The volume equaled that of August 2017, while the value increased by 465 million NOK, up 6 % compared to August last year. So far this year, Norway has exported 1.8 million tonnes of seafood, valued at NOK 63 billion . The volume has increased by 11 %, while the increase in value was 4.5.%.

    Norway exported 159,000 tonnes of seafood worth NOK 7.1 billion in July. Year-on-year growth by volume was 8 per cent, while export value increased by 7 per cent or NOK 2.2 billion from July 2017.
