  • Norwegian seafood exports fall significantly in August

    Norwegian seafood exports fell by 14 per cent in August. Seafood exports totalled NOK 7.3 billion. This is NOK 1.2 billion lower than in August 2019.
    So far this year, seafood exports have amounted to NOK 68.2 billion. This is an increase of NOK 781 million or just over 1 per cent.

    Norwegian seafood exports amounted to NOK 8.8 billion in April. This is an increase of NOK 892 million or 11 per cent compared with April last year. Year to date, seafood exports total NOK 34.5 billion. This is an increase of NOK 2.8 billion or 9 per cent compared with the same period last year.

    Despite a decline in seafood exports in September, Norway has exported 1.8 million tonnes of seafood with a value of NOK 69 billion so far this year. This is a volume increase of 3 per cent, and a value increase of 6 per cent or NOK 3.7 billion measured against the same period last year.

    August was a good month for Norwegian seafood exports. Norway exported 165,000 tonnes of seafood worth NOK 7.5 billion in August. Volume was 2 per cent higher, while export value increased by 7 per cent or NOK 501 million compared to August last year.

  • Norwegian whitefish exports total NOK 4.2 billion in Q1 2017

    Norway exported 129 000 tonnes of cod, saithe, haddock and other groundfish to a value of NOK 4.2 billion in Q1 2017. This is a 5 per cent increase in terms of volume and a 6 per cent increase in value from the same period last year. The biggest increase was for frozen products, particularly frozen whole fish. But there was also a substantial increase in exports of whole clipfish.

  • Norwegian codfish exports at record levels in January

    Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other ground fish worth NOK 1.25 billion in the first month of 2016. This is 11 per cent or NOK 128 million more than during January 2015. Growth is accounted for by a new export record for fresh products, as well as high levels of frozen cod.
