October a record month for Norwegian salmon exports

Norway salmon exports totalled almost NOK 4.7 billion in October. An increase of NOK 720 million, or 18 per cent year-on-year. This also represents an all time high for salmon export sales in a single month. So far this year, Norwegian salmon exports have totalled NOK 38.3 billion. This is an increase of NOK 2.6 billion, or 7 per cent, compared to the same period in 2014.

Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other groundfish to a value of NOK 1.28 billion in October. This represents a small decline of NOK 51 million, or 4 per cent from October 2014. Total exports by volume were 34,658 tonnes of cod, saithe, haddock and other groundfish. This is some 17 per cent lower than October 2014. Clipfish and frozen fish exports were also reduced.

Norway exported herring, mackerel and other pelagic fish to a value of NOK 1.5 billion in October. This represents a decrease of NOK 208 million, or 12 per cent, compared with October 2014. Year to date, exports of herring, mackerel and other pelagic fish from Norway totalled NOK 5.3 billion. This is a decrease of 8 per cent compared with the same period in 2014.

​So far this year Norway has exported seafood worth NOK 51.8 billion. This represents an increase of NOK 3.6 billion or 7 per cent year-on-year. September total seafood exports were worth NOK 6.7 billion. This is an increase of 11 per cent or NOK 682 million compared with September 2014.

Norway exported seafood worth NOK 5.3 billion in August. This represents an increase of NOK 593 million or 12 per cent compared to August last year. Year to date seafood exports have reached NOK 45.1 billion. An increase of NOK 2.9 billion on the same period in 2014.

Norwegian salmon exports totalled NOK 3.7 billion in August. This represents an increase of NOK 411 million, or 12 per cent compared with the same month in 2014. Exports by volume were reduced by 3,700 tonnes, or 4 per cent year-on-year, to 80,000 tonnes.

Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other whitefish products to a value of NOK 835 million in August. An increase of NOK 15 million or 2 per cent compared to August 2014. There has also been a decrease of 22 per cent in export volumes, particularly of frozen whole cod fish.

Norway exported seafood to the value of NOK 5.7 billion in July 2015. This is an increase of NOK 729 million, or 15 per cent, compared with the same month in 2014. Year-to-date seafood exports currently stand at NOK 39.7 billion. An increase of NOK 2.2 billion.

​Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other types of whitefish for a total of NOK 6.7 billion in the first half of 2015. This is NOK 896 million more than the same period last year and corresponds to an increase of 16 per cent, which is higher than ever.
